NUDOS researchers awarded three Fondecyt Regular 2024 projects
Three NUDOS researchers celebrate the award of their Fondecyt Regular 2024 projects, highlighting the thematic diversity they will address. From health information overload to youth politics and the influence of digital political intermediaries, these projects promise to contribute significantly to the understanding and improvement of crucial aspects of society.
This month, NUDOS adjunct researchers Macarena Peña y Lillo and Daniel Miranda, as well as Alejandro Olivares, young researcher of the nucleus, received the notification confirming the award of the Fondecyt Regular 2024 with the following projects:
Researcher: Macarena Peña y Lillo
“Navigating the Digital Flood: information overload for an equitable health communication”
Objective: To address health information overload related to overweight and obesity in Chile. The project will analyze the influence of information overload on health decisions and evaluate the effectiveness of persuasive messages through digital channels.
Researcher: Daniel Miranda
“Youth Political Attitudes and Behavior: inequality, school socialization styles and intergenerational influences”
Objective: To explore youth political attitudes and behavior, focusing on inequality, school socialization styles and intergenerational influences.
Researcher: Alejandro Olivares
“Political Operators of the 21st Century: in search of digital political intermediaries”
Objective: To analyze the effect of digitalization on state capacity and examine the link between citizens and digital political intermediaries. This project addresses the influence of digital intermediaries in the Chilean political system and their role in crises of representativeness.
