Juan-Carlos Castillo holds a PhD in Sociology from the Humboldt Universität Berlin. Principal researcher of the Millennium Nucleus on Digital Inequalities and Opportunities (NUDOS) since 2022, associate professor in the Department of Sociology of the University of Chile since 2019 and principal investigator of the Center for the Study of Conflict and Social Cohesion COES since 2013. Before that, he was a professor at the Institute of Sociology of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2014-2018 ) and coordinator of the research area of the MIDE UC Measurement Center (2010-2013). His research topics are distributive justice, citizen education, social cohesion and open science. His teaching is focused on quantitative methods, specializing in structural equations and multilevel models.
